WhizKidz Tutoring Team Profile: Long Island

Tara Streeter

Tara Streeter has been doing a phenomenal job at helping WhizKidz’s Long Island clients. In addition to helping our LI clients, Tara currently works as an Early Intervention Specialist and Early Intervention Coordinator. A strong advocate for students with special needs, Tara consults with teachers in grades K-8 to share intervention strategies and best practices. Prior to that, she worked at The School for Language in Glen Cove, Long Island. Tara is passionate about seeing kids succeed and believes in the impact of our work at WhizKidz.

Tara is a dedicated and self-proclaimed sports mom to her two kids Ryan (10) and Mikayla (7) and balances travel baseball, football, soccer, softball, and cheer on top of all the other mom-ing duties! She’s an involved community member and spends her free time serving on the Bellmore PTA, managing fundraisers for the Chabad of Merrick, and leading her daughter’s Girl Scouts troop. She even finds time to work in some Peloton rides with her favorite instructor, Hannah Corbin.

Tara has lived in Bellmore with her family for 10 years and loves the support she has found in the close-knit community. She and her family frequent the Bellmore Library and Newbridge Park for fun family outings. They also love to go to the Mediterranean Diner and indulge in Italian comfort food from Matteo’s on Bedford Ave.

Whether discussing parenting, academics, or personal goals, the piece of advice she likes to give others, passed on from a mentor of hers, is to:

“do your best and be proactive.”
