College is a big step in a young person’s life, and college admissions require preparation for success. While school-based college counselors are amazing professionals who help provide guidance to students, they are often responsible for supporting many students at once and rely on students and families to do lots of research and preparation on their own. At WhizKidz, we can provide your child with college-readiness support from beginning to end, work in conjunction with the support from your college counselor, and ensure every student’s college preparation journey involves experienced educators and an individualized approach.

Our Approach

Our college prep tutoring aims to support high school students and their parents in preparing for their tertiary level of education. We are committed to helping college-bound students gain confidence and develop the necessary knowledge and skills for success.

Starting with an individualized tutoring program in AP and IB courses is a good place to start to prepare students for the demands of a college-level class. Some of the courses we currently offer support in are:

• AP: Geography, Chemistry, History, Psychology, Physics, Music Theory, Computer Science, and Language
• IB Concentrations: Language and Literature, Sciences, Mathematics, and Art

Finally, we support the college admissions process. Our educators and counselors work with your child and family to assess and determine a best-fit college pathway for them! We help with everything from choosing the right colleges and universities, major exploration, college essays, and application writing, and can even provide support in identifying and developing the skills necessary for living and managing life on a college campus!

Our Locations

We offer college preparation services both in person and online, individually and in groups. Our in-person services are available in Westchester, Rockland, Bergen Counties, Long Island, and New York City. Our online services are available to students anywhere in the world. Our WK Pods small group services are an effective way to allow students to learn from both one of our highly skilled educators and their peers.
